Hello everyone, service learning is the subject of this week's reading (chapter 1 "What is Service Learning"). I think it is wonderful that students developed this class structure to help serve the community and make their curriculum more realistic. It is so common to go through the motions of a class and leave wondering what you really learned and whether your tuition dollars were well spent. Service learning classes help eliminate this feeling because you can see , or at least begin to see, the effects of your class work in a real world situation. I can't wait to start giving back to the community and learning at the same time!
