Week 11 - Proposal (Not Complete)
1. Idea/ Purpose :
The idea is to try to incorporate art into the classroom. More and more artistic programs are being cut with the logic that only academic courses contribute to student success and achievement. With that, parents, educators and communities need to work together to get creativity back into the classroom. Just as the government can justify teaching every student math because there might be an Einstein out there that just needs to be exposed to math, the same argument can be made that there might be a Rembrant or Picasso out there just needing to be exposed to art.
2. Form:
The current thinking is that the final form of our project will be a web site. This site will serve as a resource for teachers. The final form for the business side of the equation will be a pamphlet that lists the goals of the program and how these businesses can get involved.
3. Idiom and Audience :
There will be two audiences for this project. The teachers will be one side of the equation. Here they will be encouraged to have students create art and well as share ideas for other ways to incorporate art into the classroom. The other audience will be businesses that will want to contribute monetarily to the cause.
