Rich-Kim’s Grade   Overall Grade A.

1. Purpose and Resonance - Rich stated that he hadn’t “seen much data that supports the program”. I imagine he wasn’t given any, and this might be the reason “resonance and purpose” could have been more effective if local data had been provided. The poverty statistics are national. Having local poverty statistics might have been more effective. The effectiveness of my Spanish classes, what little there was, helped me with my English. I didn’t see this reason listed as one of the benefits of bi-lingual education. I feel remiss in not bringing up this point on my initial review of his case study. The reason I gave a grade of “B” for this section is only because of the lack of local data and/or statistics. The local data just might have been difficult for him to come by.    Grade B.

2. Reasoning and Content- There are many excellence points made in this case study. The peel back of some of the comments made to detect angles of discrimination is important. The injection of humor helped make the study human and readable. Grade A.

3. Structure and Organization- The prose was easy to read and enjoyable. I found it educational and interesting. The layout was clean and concise. I could find no grammatical errors. Grade A.

4. Expression- The ethos of the case study was timely for the present situation going on with immigration in our country. It seems evident to the reader Rich cares about his topic. Grade A.

 OVERALL Grade A.

Excellent job Rich, try not to throw off the bell curve. :)
